Of the many rivers and bodies of water I visited this summer, Eagle River is among the most memorable. Tucked away just off the Sunshine Coast Highway, it houses one of the sweetest natural obstacle courses I've ever seen.
The "course" starts at the top of a waterfall, with a 35' cliff dive a cool and shady pool. Off to the right, the course continues, and requires one to swim, jump, boulder, walk, hop, shimmy, and move around in just about every way possible on a journey across rocks, boulders, creeks, and other natural features, following the flow of the water.
At the end of the freshwater track is the Great Saltchuck itself -- the Pacific Ocean!
Will you take the plunge?
